COMFORT AND COURTESY PROTOCOLS FOR NETWORKING

RE: COVID-19

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented COVID-19 event. We appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments who are on the front line working to contain COVID-19. Please consider helping your neighbours, particularly those who are most vulnerable and are self isolating.

Due to the COVID-19 virus and the steps implemented by our various levels of government, we felt it was appropriate to state a protocol for our networking events so that our members and guests are comfortable during the meetings and/or events. We do ask that if you are ill with anything such as a cold, flu or fever that you stay home and rest so we can welcome you next time. Additionally, if you have had or have been in close contact with anyone that has traveled out of the country and have not self-quarantined for 14 days, we ask that you refrain from attending the event and to please join us at our next instead.

We ask all members and guests to abide by the following protocol:

1. Use alternatives to handshakes i.e. a hand on your heart, a nod, elbows, etc.

2. Keep a distance of at least 1 metre

3. Pass contact information through apps and not business cards i.e. Linkedin, WeChat, WhatsApp or online

4. Not share food or drinks (but feel free to buy each other a drink)

5. Use hand sanitizers freely

6. Sanitize surroundings as you may feel appropriate i.e. wipe tables, chairs, phones etc.

7. Wash hands frequently

8. Wear a mask if you feel this is appropriate - but please note advice of experts that masks do not protect against the virus but may reduce the chance of spreading the virus if you are infected. With that said if you are feeling ill, with any symptoms of a cold, flu or fever please feel refrain from attending the meeting and join our next event instead.

With this protocol in place, we can ensure our members and guests are safe and comfortable with each other during our events.
